2018 Prospect Preview: Josh Rosen could rival USC's Darnold for top Pac-12 QB

at Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum on November 28, 2015 in Los Angeles, California.

  • UCLA QB Josh Rosen, a highly-regarded quarterback prospect entering his junior season with the Bruins, thrived against the blitz before going down with injury late last season. He ranked No. 4 among draft-eligible quarterbacks in adjusted completion percentage against blitzing defenses (76.3 percent) in 2016.
  • Rosen also performed especially well on play action passes, completing 75.0 percent of his passes to rank No. 2 among returning Power 5 quarterbacks in play action completion percentage. He completed an FBS-high 22 percent more passes in play action than on standard dropbacks.
  • Serving as a testament to his accuracy on short and intermediate throws, Rosen ranked No. 4 among that same group of signal-callers on throws made in 2.5 seconds or less.
  • Holding him back from taking that next step, Rosen has yet to perfect his deep ball. He ranked No. 36 in the 2018 draft class in adjusted completion percentage on deep passes (39.4 percent) last season.
