2018 Prospect Preview: QBs steered clear of Stanford's Quenton Meeks last year

  • Stanford CB Quenton Meeks often blanketed wide receivers in coverage, forcing opposing quarterbacks to throw the ball elsewhere. Meeks ranked No. 1 among returning Pac-12 cornerbacks with at least 40 targets in 2016 in coverage snaps per reception allowed (15.5).
  • A former four-star recruit out of San Diego, Calif., Meeks allowed just 22 receptions last season, which ranked No. 1 among that same group of cornerbacks.
  • Despite his success in coverage, Meeks has struggled to wrap up running backs and tackle receivers after the catch. He ranked No. 153 in tackling efficiency among draft-eligible cornerbacks last season.
