Pressing fantasy questions for the AFC South

As we do every July during the run-up to NFL training camp, we are taking a spin around the league to ask and answer a pressing fantasy question for each team. Next up is the AFC South, where the Jaguars defense is rising to the level of the Texans, the Titans are becoming more well-rounded, and the Colts roster appears to be the upswing under a sharp new general manager. The typically easy AFC South schedules are not so smooth in 2017, as they face defenses from the NFC West and AFC North.

Houston Texans

Will Lamar Miller again fail to live up to his draft cost?

Miller was the 19th-highest-scoring running back — 17th on a per-game basis — and was widely viewed as a statistically inefficient letdown last season. He was the RB5 in 2015 and RB9 in 2014, with per-game finishes of RB13 and RB11, respectively. His 299 touches last year were a career-high, and are what many blame for Miller’s nearly season-long battle with nagging injuries. The Texans drafted the big and (straight-line) fast D’Onta Foreman in the third round, and veteran Alfred Blue still haunts the depth chart. Miller saw 2.0 yards before contact (16th-most of 72 qualifiers) — just behind Ezekiel Elliott (2.1) — and Blue averaged 1.9 yards.
