  • The New York Giants head into the 2017 season with the NFL's No. 1 ranked secondary according to the PFF rankings out Tuesday. The Giants are arguably the only team in the league with no obvious weakness among their first five defensive backs.
  • Janoris Jenkins, in his first year with the team, earned an overall PFF grade of 88.0, almost eight points higher than his previous career high and more than twenty points higher than his career average heading into 2016.
  • Last season Jenkins allowed just 50 percent of passes thrown his way to be caught, more than ten percentage points better than any other season of his career, and a passer rating of just 65.2 when targeted, almost thirty points better than his career baseline.
