  • During an interview on The Rich Eisen Show last week, Arizona Cardinals head coach Bruce Arians acknowledged that quarterback Carson Palmer dealt with a ‘dead arm' in 2016. The apparent cause of Palmer's ailment was from overworking his arm. Palmer will turn 38 years old during the 2017 season and says he is 100 percent heading into training camp.
  • Palmer's season grade of 81.8 was quite the drop off from his MVP-caliber 2015 season in which he earned the third highest grade among qualifying quarterbacks at 93.0.
  • Palmer's dead arm could help explain the huge drop off in deep passing production (balls traveling 20+ yards beyond LOS) from 2015 to 2016. In 2015 his adjusted completion percentage on deep passes of 45.3 ranked eighth among qualifying QBs and his 1123 deep passing yards ranked fourth. In 2016 he ranked just 23rd on deep passes in adjusted completion percentage (33.3) and 18th in deep passing yards (700).
