- Joseph Person of the Charlotte Observer has reported that Carolina Panthers tight end Greg Olsen will not hold out of their training camp, scheduled to start Tuesday in Spartanburg, SC.
- Olsen, a key contributor to the Panthers offense, hauled in 80 receptions for 1,073 yards in 2016. This included 507 yards from the slot, the most among tight ends.
- Olsen has proven to be a reliable target for quarterback Cam Newton, posting a PFF drop rate of 2.44 (he dropped just two of 82 catchable passes), ranking third out of 40 eligible tight ends in 2016, and best among Panthers wide receivers and tight ends.
